Our Story Through Time
From a simple idea about making financial education more creative to building a community that transforms how people think about money and business
The Spark That Started Everything
Back in 2019, Kieran Blackwood was sitting in his Brisbane apartment, frustrated with the dry, theoretical approach most financial courses offered. "There's got to be a better way to teach this stuff," he thought, watching another boring webinar about budgeting techniques.
The breakthrough came during a conversation with a friend who mentioned how creative exercises helped her understand complex concepts better. What if we applied that same principle to financial education?
Within three months, we'd moved operations to Bundaberg and started developing our first creative financial workshops. The early days were rough – sometimes only five people would show up to our weekend sessions. But those five people were engaged in ways we'd never seen before.
By December 2019, word had spread through local business networks. People weren't just learning about financial concepts; they were actually excited about implementing them. That's when we knew we were onto something special.
Building Momentum Across Australia
The period between 2020 and 2022 tested everyone's resilience. While many educational platforms struggled with remote learning, our creative approach actually thrived in digital formats. Students found our interactive exercises worked surprisingly well through video calls.

By mid-2022, we'd reached a significant milestone that still makes us proud. The numbers tell part of the story, but the real achievement was seeing students apply creative thinking to their actual financial situations.
What surprised us most was how students started creating their own financial tools and systems. We began showcasing these innovations, which became some of our most popular content. Students weren't just consuming information – they were becoming creators themselves.
Where We're Headed Next
This year marks an interesting point in our journey. We've learned that sustainable growth isn't about cramming more features into courses – it's about deepening the creative experience for each student who joins us.
Our focus has shifted toward understanding how different people process financial information. Some students love visual mapping exercises, others prefer narrative-based learning, and many want hands-on project work. We're developing pathways that honor these different approaches.
The most exciting development is our upcoming mentorship program, launching in September 2025. Students who've completed our core modules can opt into guiding newer learners through creative exercises. Early feedback suggests this peer-to-peer approach creates deeper understanding for everyone involved.
Looking ahead, we're not trying to become the biggest financial education platform. Instead, we want to be the place where curious people discover that financial creativity is actually quite natural – it just needs the right environment to flourish.
